Producing Premium Canvas Tote Bag designs for Hyatt Great Scotland Yard Hotel
How Supreme Creations teamed up with the renowned hotel chain for their new hotel launch.
When the renowned luxury hotel chain Hyatt were planning to launch ‘Great Scotland Yard’ – a new hotel near Covent Garden in London, they reached out to Supreme Creations for help designing a range of bags that would help solidify their brand identity and message through the use of illustrations and paintings.
The new hotel was to be built on a site where the former Metropolitan Police Headquarters stood. A building famous for being frequented by many popular names in the 19th century, like Jack the Ripper and Charles Dickens.
Great Scotland Yard were on the lookout for a thick canvas tote bags manufacturer who could maintain their enigmatic design language while expanding on their hashtag campaign #UnlockTheSecret. They wanted Supreme to create bags and pouches which would depict the enigmas around the new hotel and its history with proper emphasis. Great Scotland Yard asked for the new designs to not only look luxurious, but also be convenient enough for tourists to stroll the streets of London with them.
Shortlisting a premium fabric for Hyatt
Supreme’s choice of fabric was drawn from the identity of the client as well as the original brief. A premium and luxurious fabric which would be an apt choice to represent one of the world’s most premium and luxurious hotel chains was shortlisted. The internal teams at Supreme decided to use ’twill’ as the fabric of choice. Twill is a premium fabric which can be felt to be somewhere between cotton and medium-weight canvas.
The bag and pouch were both provided with a pocket to make it easy for carrying little essentials. A woven label with the Hotel’s logo was also added on their side.
The client’s choice for the print colour was one of the most premium gold prints at Supreme. Gold prints are the in-demand colour choices for luxury estates and hotels as the colour signifies luxury and royalty.
An enigma of a bag
All the expectations and requirements of the Great Scotland Yard were matched by Supreme Creations in our enigmatic tote bags which were designed small and square shaped. The bags were 10oz canvas and printed black on twill. Both the pouches and bags had white print on one side and gold foil printing on the other. Small essentials such as earphones, cosmetic items or smartphones could be carried easily in the small pocket inside the bags and pouches.
